Name the major character(s). Name the minor character(s). In what ways do the minor character(s) affect the main character(s)?
What decision(s) has a character made that you totally disagree with. Tell why you disagree with it.
How does this story change your thinking?
1. Some major characters are: - Liesel Meminger - Hans Huberman - Rosa Huberman - Rudy Steiner Some minor characters are: - Wermer Meminger - Paula Meminger - Frau Heinrich What is the interaction between the minor and major characters? How do they affect each other?
2. I disagree with the decision of Rudy Steiner to coat his body in charcoal. I think this could be very unhealthy for his skin and is quite odd. Also, people probably thought he was very strange and that might cause him to loose some friends or lose respect from people that are close to him. But he LOVED Jesse Owens - a famous Black runner - so he was trying to be like his mentor.
3. This story has changed my thinking in many ways. It has caused me to think of the people that were not sent to camps or discriminated against during World War II. Everyone was effected but not everyone was starved or killed. Some people could just try to pretend nothing is going on and live their lives to the most normal possibleI never thought of their standpoints before.
